"The Don Vicente de Ybor Inn was formerly the Gonzalez clinic, a place where many of the Cuban families in Tampa took their sick, where many children were born. My mother was born in the clinic in January of 1946. For this particular site, I wanted to give reference to this important role the clinic played in my own family, while also presenting an experiencial space for the viewer. "
