Peter Melaragno was born and raised in Providence, RI, and worked and studied
sculpture with his father, Biagio Melaragno, at the family's Chippaqueen Studios. As a sculptor,
Peter Melaragno has exhibited at various shows in New England.
He has a Bachelors Degree in History and earned his Masters Degree in Film Production from
Boston University's School of Public Communication. He was married in 1971. He has one child.
In his career, Mr. Melaragno has worked as a contract editor for dozens of films and videos,
and has written, edited, directed and/or produced over a dozen 16mm and video documentary
and narrative films of his own.
His most recent projects (which he wrote, co-produced, directed and edited) are two 52-minute
Cuban documentaries: "Cuba: The 40 Years
War" (narrated by Martin Sheen) and "Conga
Lessons at the Bay of Pigs" (narrated by Mr. Melaragno).
