Madstone Theaters took over this form AMC Theatres multi-screen movie house in Hyde Park Village in November. The company, which operates theaters in nine other cities, specializes in both first-run releases and works by independent filmmakers.

From Hillsborough Community College:

1. Go West on East Palm Ave to North Tampa Street, about 1 mile
2. At North Tampa Street, turn South (left), following N. Tampa St. about 2 miles into downtown Tampa
3. At Kennedy Ave. (Highway 60), turn West (right), following Kennedy Ave. about 3/4 mile
4. At South Boulevard, turn South (left), following S. Boulevard six blocks
5. At West Swann Ave., turn West (right), following Swann Ave about 1 mile to Madstone Theaters, 1689 W. Swann Ave.

Parking is available in a garage across the street from the theater, and in a lot behind the theater.
