Frank Ragano has created installations since the early 1980s.

In the past few years he has incorporated video as an element of the work, often using himself as a subject.

Turned Loose is his response to several deaths in his life recently, and also his hope for the death and renewal of the state of his country and the world.

Shot in the desert environment of New Mexico, except for the airplane sky view, a rebirth takes place within a kiva which is simultaneously beneath the surface of the< desert and in the sky. In this context water is the element of healing and rejuvenation.
