Greetings
Welcome to the 3rd annual Hillsborough Community College-Ybor Festival of the Moving Image.
This congenial gathering of film and video artists features a non-competitive atmosphere with non-cash audience awards.
The Festival of the Moving Image encourages contemporary media artists to exhibit a wide variety of form and content with
room for free-play and visual experimentation. The festival also endeavors to be a forum that allows these developments to
be showcased as they are created, thus providing a periodic update on the state of the art for the students and educators
on campus and for the community at large.
The encouragement and support from the Ybor City community has greatly enhanced the festival's ability to provide the artists
and audience unique venues inherent in the architecture of Ybor's historical district.
The artists, as always, have answered the call to share their creativity, art works and ideas with enthusiasm in the face
of miniscule remuneration and uncertain times. We are impressed and grateful for your willingness to share your knowledge
and positive energy with the students and audience.
And a special thanks to Dr. Gaston, President, HCC-Ybor City campus, and her staff, for providing this wonderful opportunity
to develop a forum that we anticipate will contribute to the quality of education and life here in this community and continue
to perpetuate these high values in the years to come.
We are proud to have the work of many area filmmakers represented in this venue. Thanks to the dedication of the festival
committee and crew, the 2005 HCC-Ybor Festival of the Moving Image brings extraordinary cinema and performing arts to
an enthusiastic audience in a magnificent setting. Enjoy!
