Uba Tuba

Directed by: Michelle Dussault
When:
Where:

A video/mural.

Shaped video elements are collaged and projected onto a painted surface that is framed in fake-fur. Video footage of wild felines is trapped within the body of a household cat while authoritative but odd placed voiceovers narrate the scene.

Pets, like granite countertops, are good chi. Both balance the static metal and plastic components of kitchen appliances. Uba Tuba is an important and affordable stone that can turn the ordinary into the (extra)ordinary.

Both, granite stone and domesticated animals are honed from their natural environment and shaped to suit the needs of the modern home.

My cat is called Giallo Veneziano, named for the golden granite she most resembles.
