Gerald Habarth

Originally from Maryland and having spent most of the nineties living in South America, Gerald Habarth is a visual artist living in Morgantown West Virginia. Currently he serves as Assistant Professor of Art in Electronic Media at West Virginia University.

His work is characterized by a synthesis of painting, drawing, electronic media and the moving image, trying to find a meaningful tension between the computerized and the handmade, the virtual and the real, the narrative and the abstract.

His work has been shown in numerous group and solo exhibits in both Chile and the US, including screenings at the Florida Film Festival, The Swansea Bay Film Festival and the Delta International Film and Video Festival.
