Youngwoong Jang has been involved in design and art fields as a product designer, an exhibition planner, and a 3D animation generalist. He is currently focusing on 3D animation as an independent film maker at the School of Visual Arts.

Working primarily in the field of new media arts, his work explores the conjunction between oriental philosophy and western science.

Youngwoong specialized in industrial design and focused mostly on product design during the years 1993-1999. He received several awards from LG, JAD and the Korea ministry of Commerce. While he studied at a college, he worked for the Samsung Motors museum plan in the EDC laboratory. He worked at Time & Space Tech Inc. for museum planning in 2000.

At the end of 2000, he changed fields to begin working in the 3D animation industry. He has produced 3D animations for television and PS2, X-BOX games. He generated an image of a 3D alligator twisted by an anaconda for the cover of 3D Artisan magazine.

In 2003, at the School of Visual Arts, he started to work on his first 3D animation film, Mirage, a story about a water collector.
