The Puppet Intervention

Director: Mark Barroso

Mark Barroso films two men, working out of an abandoned cotton mill near Chapel Hill, NC, as they create an annual spectacular of drama, music, dance and giant puppetry that is enjoyed by thousands.

Working with the debris of an industrial age, their message of engaging life simply and honestly is the result of complex, and sometimes contentious, collaboration with the cast and musicians, as well as dozens of volunteer puppet-makers.

The film follows the making of one show. (Warning: contains nudity, strong language and ideas that may disturb conservative Republicans.)
