Utitled 1: Director’s Cut*
Length: 5 min
Location: USA
Can a few hours with a Canon Powershot, a new macbook, a brother and a plan spawn a masterpiece? Well, no. But maybe some decent comedy could come out of it?
Utitled 1 is limited-resource amateur filmmaking of the lowest order. A man with no actors available and some moderate drawing skills brainstorms some film ideas in a mad rush of creativity. Follow his mutations from sports hero to con man, and watch as he unveils his mastery of italian neorealism and classic western style.
* Not a typo, by the way.
Asher Ford
Asher Ford is a college student currently attending Hillsborough Community College at its Brandon Campus. He plans to attend the University of Central Florida in the fall as a Cinema Studies major.
Asher spends most of his free time watching and studying the history of film. He's currently working on a personal project to watch the history of movies in chronological order, and has seen more than 400 silent films in the past year.
His knowledge of film was of great use to him in the fall 2008 semester when, in his film class, he was assigned to make a movie with two classmates (and would like to thank Luigi Di Mare and Johny Hoy for all their great efforts). Together they made a comedy film about the struggles of the modern filmmaker with various send-ups of classic film genres.
Asher is excited to be showing his work at his first film festival, and eager to see fellow filmmakers' productions there.
