The writer and directory of "Crackie", Sherry White is an accomplished creator of original material who works as a screenwriter/performer/director. Based in Newfoundland and Labrador, her work in film, television and theatre has won critical acclaim and awards.
Sherry most recently co-wrote and performed in "Down to the Dirt", which had its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008, and for which she received the Atlantic Film Festival Award for Best Screenplay.
Sherry wrote and played the lead in the feature "The Bread Maker", which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2003.
In television, Sherry was the co-creator/co-star/co-writer of the CBC comedy pilot Rabbittown. She was a performer and writer on the Gemini award winning CBC series "Hatching, Matching and Dispatching". She was a writer on CBC's one-hour drama series "MVP: the Secret Lives of Hockey Wives" and on CBC's comedy series, "Sophie". Currently, Sherry is writing for CanWest Global's new one-hour drama series "Copper".
In her career, Sherry has been awarded placements in prestigious programs such as Banff Centre's Women in the Director's Chair, TIFF's Film Lab, and Canwest Global's Showrunner Training Program.
Sherry previously directed two award winning short films, "Spoiled" (2008) and "Diamonds in a Bucket" (2007) which both premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Crackie, her award-winning original screenplay, is her feature film directorial debut.
