Licensing Music for Film
Tom Stottlar of Good Dog Records will present information on the logistical and legal issues of licensing music, both in general and specifically for filmmakers. Topics include: music score versus production music, music licensing defined, music licensing opportunities and song demos (for promotion). Tom will include a Question and Answer session.
Thomas Stottlar owns the recording studio Good Dog Records and is a musician and songwriter. Tom creates and records production music and licenses music for film/TV/publishing.
Fair Use Law and Filmmaking
Julee L. Milham Esq (Board Certified in Intellectual Property) practices music law and will discuss the use in film of intellectual property, such as recorded music, songs, and images and video from the internet and other sources. Julee will offer information on rules and techniques for securing rights, typical fees, and will do a Question and Answer session.
