An idyllic cabin in the woods becomes a prison for a man and his family. Each evening at sundown he fears they will be annihilated by a menacing presence. While his wife and child slumber, he waits out the night, unable to sleep with the thoughts of horrors that lie just outside his front door. Is it the man's imagination or could the unseen monster he fears actually be real?
What is that thrashing sound he hears in the trees? Is it thunder or could it be something more unthinkable? The booming of branches falling to the ground, could it be that some huge beast roams outside each night? With each lightning bolt and clap of deafening thunder, he actually sees the beast reaching for his family. Is it lack of sleep or a growing madness that makes his mind wander?
