About Every Time I Dive
Every Time I Dive is a film that challenges the value systems by which we determine self-worth and the significance of others. It utilizes the act of diving to explore the anxieties and performative aspects of everyday life.
The artist visually examines these constructions through exploitation of the medium, including camera submersion, layering, altering film speed, fast cuts, and green-screening. As the protagonist is pushed to the edge of her performance, different worlds merge into a culmination of reality which subverts the rules and structures by which the “real world” operates.
